Freedom is probably the most used term in the history of mankind. the first question that my mind encapsulate is , what do you mean by Freedom ? '' Freedom is absence of restraint''. . . This is the most common definition of freedom which reside in our mind subconsciously. Historically freedom has been associated with struggle of class or gender or race or country against the hegemony of certain group. Their's no doubt about the importance of freedom from outward domination. Considering the nature of the word '' restraint '' , I find inner freedom equally or more important in this regard. Here, I'll try to delve into various aspects of this freedom which didn't get the constant attention historically, it won't be an exaggeration to label it as unexplored in Indian conditions. . By Inner Freedom i mean, the precondition where a person believes they are free but their choice are dictated by internalized perceptions about things. Delving into some complex internalized perceptions. . . We all believe to the idea that there's a inherent difference b/w happiness and prosperity, maybe we all don't believe but we pretend to believe it in a forum. Though when we see the reality, majority of people are just cog in the machine sailing and embracing the generalized perception about things i.e. conveniently adjusting to the narrative and not having the capacity to have a individual opinion about things, this silent collective dumbness is responsible for almost all absurdities and discrepancies, they are the follower not the leader. This dumbness is usually paired with masculinity , fake pride, Inferiority complex and supercilious nature to overcompensate. This mediocre majority provides all the conditions ripe for exploitation by various groups. For Example, Hitler successfully exploited the anxieties of majority of Germans after the humiliating defeat of first war or In Indian context, my privileged friend whose only recognition in his life is he's from a well to do family and never read a newspaper in his life considers Rahul Gandhi privileged and dumb, not a supporter though the stark similarities makes me smile.
'' The problem with average human is they don't detest or accept privilege as long as it's their own, they only despise people who's above them on hierarchical privilege level. ''
As long as they remain in this vicious cycle of dissatisfaction and empower the demagogues who create a larger than life persona to inculcate the loyalty and purloin the already exacerbated individuality. The above precondition is the genesis of irrational people. The question emerges what's the fundamental diff between a rational and irrational people ?
'' Irrationality is natural, Rationality is achieved. ''
Considering an example, A and B fight over an issue, A started calling names after some B lost his momentarily control and does the same. After some time, A meets C and calls B a moron and how bad he is while B introspect how he lost his nerve and tries to think over his ideas , he may or may not alter it but the thinking process will male him realise his mistake, it's the process of rationalization of mind.
Being rational and free are intertwined more than one can imagine while a rational human may admire someone but will be conscientious of irregularties. It's easier to make a follower of irrational human than make rational mind admire. .
